SELLER’S STORY:
Please Note: This is a BMW i3 REX Hybrid Model so it has a gasoline-fueled Range Extender Generator (REX in BMW parlance) that gives the i3 an additional 70 miles of potential range. It's a unique offering for this class of car, and certainly eliminates concerns about running out of juice while on the road. I have always wanted an electric vehicle, and after driving a Golf VW GTI 5-Speed for over 10 years, figured I'd have to miss out on the joy of driving in order to be "better for the environment." Man, was I ever surprised to discover that this BMW i3 is every bit as much fun to drive! There's even more torque than those lower gears in the GTI, it really can scoot and makes entry onto expressways a breeze! Parking is effortless with side mirror automatically adjusting the angle while reversing into the space to provide a great view to align the vehicle beside the curb. Conveniently small for urban & suburban driving, yet with an interior that feels comfortable and spacious and comes with plenty of room for cargo at 36.9 cubic ft. when back seats are folded down. The Harman Kardon Audio System with 12 Speakers is truly a music lovers dream and makes this car a very special ride indeed! :)

We've assumed a fuel economy of 21 miles per gallon for a comparable gasoline powered premium sedan, for example, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550. We've also assumed the national average of $0.13 per kilowatt-hour for electricity, 10% charging on Tesla’s Supercharger network and $2.70 per gallon for premium gasoline over the next five years.
Florida has allowed owners of hybrid, electric and other low-emission vehicles to ride in high-occupancy-vehicle lanes with only one person in the car between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. And with the introduction of the I-95 express lanes, they don't have to pay tolls.
EVs benefit from not requiring oil changes or other maintenance costs for exhaust systems. Studies have shown that this represents a 35 percent decrease in cost over time. Some calculations peg this to about 3 or 4 cents per mile of maintenance cost in an EV versus closer to 6 cents in an internal combustion car.
